Our History
Unique Friends Schools is a pre-primary, primary school and College academy of international standard, established by an educationally inclined and God-fearing couple (Blessing and Victor) through divine fulfillment of their dream to provide quality education to the youths of Nigeria and beyond at affordable costs. It was conceived to train the youths to attain their full potentials to become responsible citizens and assume their envisaged roles as future leaders of the society.
UNIQUE FRIENDS prides its self in providing the youth with total education that transcends the four walls of the classrooms. Learning in the school is therefore complete and functional, taking cognizance of the child’s academic, social, moral, general and all – round developmental requirements. All the infrastructure and facilities provided in the school support the founders’ philosophy of TOTAL EDUCATION for the child. The Management, teaching teams and sectional staff are all carefully selected, educationally and functionally empowered and motivated to deliver the goods.
The school opened on 17th September 2007 in its present temporary site at No 6, Victor Akogwu Street, Olorogbo, Agbede, Ikorodu, Lagos, with just 80 pupils. The pupils’ population has steadily and phenomenally grown over the years, with virtually all classes having many arms. In response to the phenomenal growth, the school moved out the Crèche and Nursery classes to a tastefully constructed structure at No 2 of the same street in 2011. This structure was initially constructed to start off the College arm, in response to the cry of concerned and satisfied parents to sustain the standard set from the Primary section through the high school.
On 17th September 2012 however, the College arm took off successfully at the site while additional expansions were commenced in January 2013 to fully accommodate the primary section. The new edifice was completed and put to use in June 2013, showcasing, additional eight standard classrooms, library and a school hall with capacity to seat about 500 guests. Meanwhile, the school’s permanent structures sitting on an acre of land at Odubose, a neighbouring community are in construction. The new structure, a master-piece of architecture will become the school’s main campus, housing the Crèche, Nursery, Primary and college facilities while the current temporary site will remain an annex of the school eventually.
The school opened an annex at 70 Odugbose Road/17 Olu-Seweje street, Agbede (Maras), Transformer on the 9th of September 2019 to cater for the growing students intake from that environment.
